Sources confirm that NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is awaiting response from NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr on a proposal that owners and players have a bargaining session without any NHL or NHLPA leaders or staff in the room.
Just do it. Get the freakin’ lawyers out of the room. Hopefully this results in a room full of grownups. Bettman & Fehr are adult aged gamers but I’m not sure they’re all that growd up.
And oh BTW, the mediators suggested a pause in the formal mediation process.
I don’t get why Daly is whining about some mythical measure of progress. Anytime you get the lawyers to shut-up while the principals chat, you got progress. Given what the mouthpieces have accomplished in this 70+ day lockout, how much worse can the owners and players FUBAR it?
